Description
Over a period of six months, I developed a differentiated intervention curriculum for 10 extremely important reading skills.
- Author’s Purpose
- Inference
- Sequence
- Summary
- Text Features
- Cause and Effect
- Character
- Context Clues
- Main Idea
- Point of View
Each skill includes three differentiated passages (2nd, 3rd and 4th-grade levels) and materials to help your students through any troubles they may have with a certain skill.
Taking them through this intervention process will help them understand more about each skill. Using three different components, the students will review all skills you have taught in class.
1. Graphic Organizer Approach
2. Open-Ended Response Approach
3. Standardized Test Multiple Choice Approach
The intervention will be extremely valuable to your students and you as their teacher.
The rubric included will allow you to check for mastery in all three areas.
Two rubrics are included. The squares are the same but one says a letter grade (if you are giving grades on this review) the other just gives a 1, 2 or 3.
A clickable table of contents, standards page, and answer keys are all included!
Lastly, these are aligned to the TEKS (adopted in 2017) and CCSS. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions (hillary@hillarysteachingadventures.com) and please remember to leave feedback!
Need help teaching these concepts BEFORE intervention? Check out my Hands-On Reading Activities! They align wonderfully with this intervention!
