Guided Reading Lesson Plans: 4th Grade

Guided Reading Lesson Plans that are streamlined into effective instruction for Tier 1, 2, and 3 children AND students that are above grade level. Totaling 30 full weeks of instruction with no prep on your part as the teacher.

These Guided Reading Lesson Plans are fully scripted and broken down into 10 main skills for reading. Each of the skills will be taught THREE times in a rotation (full rotation and guide is provided.)

The first time the skill is taught, the students will practice their knowledge of the skill using a graphic organizer. The second time they will practice their knowledge of the skill using open-ended questions, and the third time they will practice their knowledge of the skill using multiple choice questioning.

Passages for Tier 1, 2, and 3 students ARE provided for each skill and each rotation. (30 passages leveled 3 different ways equaling 90 passages.)

Aligned with TEKS and CCSS

Each lesson includes either a graphic organizer, open-ended questions or multiple choice questions (all with answer keys included.)

Photographs or pictures are included in each passage along with vocabulary words already chosen for the teacher.

Vocabulary activities are included for each lesson and can be used with the bold words chosen in each passage.

An anecdotal record portion is included at the bottom of the lesson plan after the assessment so the teacher may keep a record of what the students need during the next lesson.

A schedule to follow for each rotation is also included for each group of students (tier 1, 2, 3 and above level students.)

Editable Plans are included as well.
